I am in the middle of Midterms at SWIC and have been maintaining my GPA with solid grade A work. This weekend was a mix of studying, a quick flight followed by aircraft maintenance, and the Annual Belleville Chili Cookoff. It has been a couple weeks since I have flown any distance so yesterday I took the Ruff Air Mooney out to stretch its legs for a half hour. It was due for an oil change, so I did that as well.
As I was finishing up putting the cowl back on it reminded me of so many things that got me to this point. I am very thankful for all the knowledge and experience I have gained from my dad over the years which enabled me to confidently perform the maintenance on my aircraft. I’ve been turning wrenches since I was a kid with his guidance on all kinds of projects. There have been few times when I deferred to a shop to fix my vehicles because of the skills he taught me. Thanks dad.
Wind and turbulence prevented another PnP pilot from Transporting from northern IN to STL on Sunday. That was unfortunate for the pup who has a forever home waiting for them in AR. Hopefully the weather will be favorable this coming weekend. I’m hoping to combine a trip or two to deliver these fur babies to their fosters or their new homes.
I have my last Midterm test tomorrow in addition to a trip to the dentist to fix a broken molar. Big fun!! I will likely be using the extra time to advance my aviation goals. Might squeeze in an Instrument lesson or a quick cross country flight depending on how my tooth feels. I’ll also be contacting a Avionics mechanic and follow up with Wings of Hope.
